What does Eau de Toilette mean?
Eau de Toilette usually describes a comparatively lighter concentration category, but exact percentages vary by brand. There is no single percentage that reliably defines every EDT on the market.
What does Eau de Parfum mean?
Eau de Parfum is commonly positioned at a higher concentration than Eau de Toilette, yet brands often rebalance notes as well. An EDP can be a different composition rather than simply a stronger version.
What about Parfum or Extrait?
Parfum and Extrait de Parfum typically indicate high concentration, but higher concentration can produce a denser or closer-wearing effect rather than louder projection. Strength and concentration are not the same thing.
Does EDP always last longer than EDT?
No. Materials, formula structure, application, skin, temperature and humidity all affect performance. One EDT may easily outlast another fragrance sold as EDP.
How should you choose?
Treat each concentration as its own fragrance. Compare the actual scent, how it performs on your skin and its price. Do not assume similarly named EDT, EDP and Parfum versions smell identical at different strengths.
